The Middle East Revolution and the End of the Age

arab spring

I had been wondering how long it would take for the poor to uprise against the dictatorships that bind them. The cyber world carries so much information. All someone has to do in the Third World to get a hold of it is have access to a computer and speak a different language. Particularly English.

For long months have I wondered what would keep these people so complacent and not arguing and revolting for a better life? I have little understood how Imperialists stay so imperial for so long, too. I understand it is wrapped up in a mixture of wealth and power.

Man wants to dominant man. So it has almost always been. Even admist this truth, in the Middle East they are wanting to be dominated a bit differently.

Tunisia Leads the Way

Former Tunisian dictator, Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, is hiding somewhere in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, the UK lifts the travel advisory for Tunisia saying the dust is starting to settle. Americans are still searching their World maps to find exactly where Tunisia is.

And the BBC is flooded with reports from the Middle East. Tunisia's neighbors, Egypt, had a roll off effect. After much protesting and revolting, the government is playing it cool. Mr. Mubarak (the guy doesn't even get an official governing title), Egypt's dictator of over thirty years, admits defeat. While his adversaries want to oust him in this moment, he promises to step down in September. The US is strongly urging him to prepare for the transition now.
