The Church and Social Issues

How Do We Terminate Partial-Birth Abortion?

In these days people seem to be void of opinion, or at least not brave enough to share it. Or worse, they are apathetic. It is unacceptable to move against popular culture. To do so, one risks being labeled “intolerant”.

Secularism is rampant across Western civilization. Civilization, as it is called. Webster's dictionary defines it as “a relatively high level of cultural and technological development”. Hmm. Perhaps society across the globe has become too civilized.

In saying this, I mean we are so saturated with technology and advancement, we have lost our natural instincts. We have become desensitized. We see people suffering around the world with a click of a virtual button. Our brains are numb. Our hearts are frozen.

The Church and the Narrow Way

I am going to get specific and narrow the focus here to Christian culture. Here we play the game of fence riding. We want to be popular and accepted by those around us. This is natural and not exactly a violation. What it is, though, is lukewarm.

I want to share this. All of my biggest failures have come from the smallest compromises.

Today my Spirit is sickened by the lack of participation of the church in society and with social issues. The church is so inward, doing everything it can to bring the world to it instead of going out into the world.
